I am a Post-Doc at the D'Esposito lab since spring 2010. Before I gained postdoctoral experience at the Max-Planck- Institute for Human Cognitive and Brain Science in Leipzig, Germany, were I also completed my PhD. My research so far focused on language learning and comprehension, using behavioral, EEG, and fMRI methods. My current research at the D'Esposito lab involves the investigation into cognitive control. Recently, it was proposed that the prefrontal cortex exhibits a hierarchical organization in terms of different stages of cognitive control. I plan to further investigate the nature of these stages. In particular, I would like to elucidate whether (and how) different cognitive domains, like language domain and visuo-spatial domain interact in this hierarchy.
